Human Resources Director

The Human Resources Director will be responsible for leading and overseeing the organization's overall HR strategy and operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, leadership development, and compliance with employment laws and company policies. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to develop and implement HR initiatives that support business objectives, strengthen company culture, and drive organizational growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update job descriptions.
  • Develop and implement employee onboarding procedures.
  • Lead recruitment efforts, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and managing the selection process.
  • Conduct reference and background checks.
  • Analyze and develop solutions to improve employee retention.
  • Partner with management to address employee conduct issues and grievances
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage the HRIS system and ensure the integrity of employee data.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive company culture.
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook and ensure proper distribution.
  • Design and deliver HR-related training programs for managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Develop and manage employee development plans.
  • Measure the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Oversee the performance appraisal process.
  • Manage organizational succession planning.
  • Lead the company's safety program.
  • Oversee the administration of policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping and timely reporting to federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Manage FMLA eligibility, workers' compensation, and PTO administration.
  • Develop and implement wellness programs.
  • Serve as the point of contact for benefits administration and enrollment.
  • Develop and implement a competitive compensation strategy.
  • Conduct job evaluations and ensure accurate compensation structures.
  • Make FLSA determinations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field, with 5-7 years of experience. An MSHR and PHR/SPHR certification are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compensation practices, recruitment practices, and general HR functions.
  • Experience in HR training and public speaking.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, HRIS software, and other relevant HR software.
  • A strong team player with a proven track record of success in HR.
