Overview

Production Planner Analyst collaborates with teams across 3M to manage supply chain product flow, schedule procurement and manufacturing, and align inventory with customer demand.

Responsibilities
  • Manage supply chain product flow to support customer requirements.
  • Schedule procurement and manufacturing for a specified group of products.
  • Review material flow parameters such as order quantity, lot size, make‑cycle frequency, and replenishment interval, and recommend appropriate levels.
  • Manage raw material and semi‑finished inventory buffer quantities.
  • Monitor and report capacity requirements, special orders, and stock service levels.
  • Continuously improve the planning and scheduling process.
  • Identify ways to improve customer service, inventory investment, and supply chain efficiency, and participate in implementation.
  • Lead cross‑functional projects across the business to drive change in service, cost, and inventory.
  • Develop and maintain operating rhythms to ensure smooth supply chain operations, aligning supply with demand.
  • Identify and lead projects that improve supply chain speed and inventory investment.
  • Review and report on project progress with management.
  • Work closely with the business unit to understand customer requirements and forecasts.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to ensure alignment to business requirements by setting and maintaining sufficient inventory levels and lead times.
  • Actively manage working and non‑working inventories in assigned businesses to maintain compliance and achieve inventory investment targets.
  • Utilize supply chain tools and processes such as SAP, EWM, and Power BI.
  • Use Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve service, inventory turns, and non‑working inventory.
  • Apply supply chain parameter‑management tools to optimize planning parameters (safety stock, lot size, EOQ, Loop & Supermarket, lead time).
  • Maintain relevant planning master data and support new product introduction and phase‑in/phase‑out material business processes and associated change management processes.
  • Provide a high degree of planning analysis to support decision making.
  • Publish and present service and inventory metrics and results.
Location & Travel

On‑site in Monroe, NC. Travel may include up to 10% domestic/international.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $84,595 – $103,394 plus variable incentive pay if eligible. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, disability, life insurance, voluntary benefits, paid absences, and retirement.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED or higher (verified prior to start).
  • Five (5) years of experience in supply chain, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, production, and/or customer service in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution and/or Planning System (e.g., SAP).
  • APICS CPIM certification preferred; certification will be part of professional development if not yet completed.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt project experience and/or certification.
  • Experience in Lean Scheduling or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience with Microsoft VBA macros, SQL, and MS Cloud apps (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Power BI).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

    On‑site Monroe, NC. Relocation assistance may be authorized up to 10% domestic/international.
