Machinist - Hydro Bench; Defense - 2nd Shift

Position: Machinist I - Hydro Bench (Defense) - 2nd Shift
Position Summary

The entry level Bench/Hydro role is responsible for removing irregularities, surplus metal-ragged edges, burrs, etc., from parts.

Principal Activities

* Prepare for and test subject parts to varying pressures

* Remove burrs, fins, core wire, sand, and irregularities from unmachined surfaces of various parts by filing, grinding

* Clean/wash parts

* Use hand and power grinders, scrapers, files, buffing equipment, vibratory tumbling machine, and media

* High pressure washer, holding, and clamping devices, wrenches, pressure gages, water, air, sealing solutions, hoist-operated cranes, and other lifting equipment

* Utilize multi-function electric or air-crane (where available) to lift, move, load, and unload parts to perform work center functions

* Properly fill out all paperwork and keep good housekeeping

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

* Required to follow written and verbal instructions

* Self-driven and able to self-manage

* Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted

* Lift, pull, push. Continuously, walk/move from one machine to as many as three

* Physically, load and unload parts

Education & Experience

* 1 - 3 years of manufacturing and/or machining experience preferred

* High school diploma or equivalent required
