SUMMARY
We are currently looking for a Powder Processing Operator for our Bakers facility in Monroe, NC. As a Powder Processing Operator, you will play a valuable role within the Powder Processing Department helping ensure our materials and products are meeting customer specifications. Powder Processing is the finalization of material in making the raw powder into what the customer requires for a clean, zero‑imperfection part.
You will be responsible for performing powder processing procedures including preparation, screening powder, blending powder, loading containers, and operating vacuum systems.
A successful Powder Processing Operator is able to operate equipment safely and within standard operating procedures, has a strong regard for quality, is not afraid of heights, able to lift up to 50 lbs., and works on their feet throughout their shift. You will need to be able to learn and understand vacuum systems, pressure differentials, and how to identify and trace down leaks within a vacuum system.

- Adhere to and participate in company safety programs to ensure a safe work environment
- Follow all quality standards and customer specifications, including proper documentation
- Accurate use of shop floor business system (ABS)
- Routine maintenance of all equipment
- Use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers and measuring tapes
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and cranes
- As a part of the physical requirements of the role, you may be asked to wear a respirator from time to time. As a condition of employment, you must pass a Respiratory Protection Screening
- Perform tape test for all cleaned equipment, containers, and clean rooms.
- Degrease, grind, debur, and clean parts and fixtures
- Prepare loading equipment, screeners, and intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) as required
- Water purge and Powder purge containers load for approval
- Operate powder screening equipment to required specification (mesh fraction).
- Perform magnetic separation of powder.
- Transfer, blend, and store powder using appropriate equipment and storage containers.
- Purge containers and evaluate load for approval.
- Load containers with powder and condition for next process (Hot Isostatic Press (HIP), outgas, or shipment)
- Operate vacuum systems. Crimp outgassed parts and condition as required.
- Prepare and mark parts as required in process.
- Provide samples to customers while following procedures for marking and documentation
- Complete test for control of screening and demagnetizing of product
- Re-qualify equipment and powder containers
- All other duties as assigned or directed by management
- High School diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience
- At least one (1) year of mechanical experience
- At least three (3) months of vacuum system experience
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills
