Position Summary
The General Labor team supports daily operations within a metals recycling and processing facility. This role is responsible for handling, sorting, and processing scrap metal materials, with a primary focus on torch operation — cutting over-size material to customer and facility specifications for further preparation and shipping. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in an industrial setting with heavy materials and machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Sort, inspect, and separate scrap metal materials by type and grade
- Identify and remove contaminants or non-conforming materials
- Load and unload materials using hand tools or equipment
- Operate torches to cut over-size material to customer and facility specifications; assist with additional processing machinery
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
- Support inventory control and material tracking as needed
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
- Full-Time
- Monday-Friday
- 2nd Shift (2:00 pm
-10:30 pm)
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, standing, bending)
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
- Willingness to complete several months of on-the-job training across facility categories
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- High school graduate or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, recycling, or industrial labor (preferred)
- Previous experience operating a forklift (preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Comfortable working in outdoor and industrial environments (heat, cold, noise, dust)
- $19/hr starting rate (depending on experience)

This position operates in a metals recycling facility that processes titanium using specialized equipment and technology. The environment includes exposure to heavy machinery with moving parts, loud noise, dust, outdoor and humid conditions (especially in summer), and high temperatures during warmer months. Protective clothing and equipment (including safety shoes) are required at all times.
