Job Summary
Pay rate based on experience. Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience or graduate/student of industrial maintenance training program allowed. Welder fabricator involves welding and fabricating metal components, interpreting blueprints, operating welding equipment, and ensuring quality and accuracy of finished product. Use of hand and power tools, inspections, maintenance on equipment, and safety protocol compliance.
ShiftWork shift:
2nd shift (United States of America)
- Fabricate and erect assigned tasks using various metals including stainless steel, galvanized, black iron, angle iron, channel iron, round and flat stock.
- Perform TIG, ARC, and MIG welding, able to weld in flat, vertical, horizontal and overhead positions.
- Safely operate hand and power shop tools such as metal shear, metal brake, drill press, metal lathe, plasma cutter, oxy-acetylene torch, sanders, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and plan layouts for assembly and welding operations.
- Perform close-tolerance measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other tools to meet layout print specifications.
- Set up and operate welding and fabricating equipment based on blueprints, sketches or verbal orders.
- Inspect parts for defects and measure to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Perform machining operations using lathe, broaching tools, drilling, tapping and other machining functions.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly manner, including shop tools, welding cutting gauges and welding equipment.
- Follow company policies, procedures and safety regulations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience or a graduate/student of an industrial maintenance training program (experience from multiple employers allowed).
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and shop equipment.
- Proficiency in TIG, ARC and MIG welding.
- Correct reading of blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform close-tolerance measurements.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
