Position: 2ND-SHIFT-MONROE MAINTENANCE REFIFERATION FULL-TIME (PLEASE READ JOB REQUIREMENTS BELOW) ADDITION $2 SHIFT DIFFERENCE

Refrigeration Technician

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing plant refrigeration systems and responsible areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Task:

  • Must be able to perform mechanical refrigeration and electrical duties, and make adjustments and repairs.
  • Must be able to work safely to ensure proper usage of ammonia and other equipment.
  • Must have understanding of industrial ammonia refrigeration operation and functions of control valves.
  • Must be able to work with devices that are fragile and require precise attention.
  • Understanding of basic shop math and have ability to use precision measuring devices.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Use basic hand and power tools.
  • Understanding of different types of pumps and application with the ability to troubleshoot and rebuild.
  • Understanding of basic A/C and D/C electrical theory and system wiring principles and installation methods.
  • Minor welding and fabrication ability a plus.
  • Understanding of compressed air systems with ability to troubleshoot and apply maintenance techniques.
  • Able to tolerate extreme cold, hot, dry and wet environments.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass and maintain a PFT (pulmonary function test).
  • Must be a member of the HAZMAT team.
  • Must be able to use and train in a SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus).
  • Must remain clean shaven at all times.
  • Industrial refrigeration experience a plus.
  • 6 MONTHS industrial maintenance experience.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, turn, climb, push, pull, carry 50 + pounds as needed.
  • This position may require to work holidays and weekends stay late, called in early or cover other shift.
  • REHIRE CRITERIA: 90 DAYS WAITING PERIOD FROM MOST RECENT TERMINATED DATE, 3 TIMES RULE CANDIDATE NOT ELIGIBLE IF WORK FOR TYSON 3 TIMES.
