Role overview
You will install, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration equipment; conduct detailed inspections and troubleshooting; execute preventative maintenance to reduce downtime; and meticulously document all work performed. You’ll coordinate closely with peers to uphold a safe, efficient environment and follow rigorous protocols, including Lockout/Tagout. Expect to use forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and fall protection while working across varied conditions.
Core responsibilities
Service and repair ammonia and other industrial refrigeration systems.
Perform routine checks, diagnostics, and optimizations to ensure peak performance.
Carry out preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reliability.
Record all maintenance and repair actions with accuracy.
Collaborate with the team to sustain safe, efficient operations.
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks; use ladders and fall protection; enforce Lockout/Tagout.
Monitor industry advancements and adopt best-in-class techniques.
Follow all applicable safety standards and regulations.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications & physical requirements
Minimum six (6) months of documented mechanic experience OR current/graduate status in an industrial maintenance or refrigeration training program.
Preferred background in ammonia refrigeration, general refrigeration, or HVAC.Rehire policy: eligible after 90 days away with fewer than three prior employment terms at this facility.
Must be 18 years or older and present valid identification.
Ability to use basic hand tools; read and understand work instructions.
Lift up to 50 lbs.; climb stairs up to 120 feet and ladders up to 60 feet; stand for extended periods; work in extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.
