Full-time Maintenance Mechanic Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing environments, with expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment, troubleshooting issues, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns
- Conduct preventive maintenance on various types of manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems in production machinery
- Repair or replace faulty equipment parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to understand equipment specifications and maintenance procedures
- Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper setup and calibration
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruptions during maintenance and repair activities
- Implement and maintain safety procedures in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls and perform repairs in a timely manner
- Train and mentor junior maintenance staff on proper maintenance techniques and safety protocols
- Stay updated on the latest maintenance technologies and best practices in the manufacturing industry
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment
- Strong proficiency in both mechanical and electrical systems
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems used in manufacturing equipment
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automated control systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals
- Proficient in using various hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights and weekends, as required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
