Operational Excellence EngineerDeceuninck North America is seeking an Operational Excellence Engineer for its North American Headquarters. The Operational Excellence Engineer will have responsibility for driving process improvements and operational efficiencies across the organization. The Operational Excellence Engineer focuses on identifying waste, improving processes, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement using the principals of the Toyota Production System. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative and eager to learn lean manufacturing methodologies in a hands‑on environment.
This position reports to the Operational Excellence Manager.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies, developing and implementing process improvement plans.
- Support daily operations by identifying inefficiencies and proposing practical solutions.
- Collect and analyze data to measure process performance (cycle time, takt time, throughput, etc).
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, delivery and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators. (KPIs).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve processes.
- Help develop and maintain standard work documentation, visual controls, and 5s standards throughout the facility.
- Train and mentor employees on continuous improvement principles and tools.
- Through team collaboration, ensure that improvements are sustained and KPIs are improving.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and ability to work successfully with a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience (internship included) related to process improvement or manufacturing (preferred).
- Familiarity with TPS concepts (preferred).
- Exposure to tools like time study, value stream mapping and 5s (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical and/or Manufacturing or related field) or equivalent experience.
