The Operational Excellence Engineer is responsible for driving process improvements and operational efficiencies across the organization. This role focuses on identifying waste, improving processes, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement using the principles of the Toyota Production System (TPS). The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and eager to apply Lean manufacturing methodologies in a hands-on environment. This position reports to the Operational Excellence Manager.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies, developing and implementing process improvement plans.
  • Support daily operations by identifying inefficiencies and recommending practical solutions.
  • Collect and analyze process performance data, including cycle time, takt time, throughput, and other key metrics.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational processes and drive sustainable results.
  • Develop and maintain standardized work documentation, visual controls, and 5S standards throughout the facility.
  • Train and mentor employees on continuous improvement principles, tools, and best practices.
  • Partner with operations teams to ensure process improvements are sustained and performance metrics continue to improve.
Qualifications:
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous experience (including internships) in manufacturing, process improvement, or operational excellence preferred.
  • Familiarity with Toyota Production System (TPS) concepts preferred.
  • Experience with time studies, value stream mapping, and 5S methodologies preferred.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
