Government Disaster Recovery Coordinator (Hiring Immediately) – Monroe, Butler County, OH

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per year

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Local Disaster Recovery Manager to join our team within the government sector. This is a critical role that will focus on planning, coordinating, and managing disaster recovery efforts in the aftermath of natural and man‑made disasters. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), and the American Rescue Plan Act.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong knowledge of land use planning processes and the ability to manage funding and grant money effectively.

• Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery and mitigation plans in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Coordinate with FEMA, CDBG, HMGP, and other relevant agencies to ensure maximum utilization of disaster recovery funds.
• Manage the application and administration of grant funds, including tracking and reporting on grant expenditures and outcomes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, state, and federal agencies, non‑profit organizations, and community groups to facilitate effective disaster recovery efforts.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on land use planning and its application to disaster recovery.
• Oversee the distribution and management of funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to support disaster recovery initiatives.
• Conduct regular training and awareness sessions for local officials and community members on disaster preparedness and recovery.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of disaster recovery programs and initiatives, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to disaster recovery and mitigation.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in disaster recovery management, preferably within the government sector.
• Extensive knowledge of FEMA, CDBG, HMGP, and the American Rescue Plan Act.
• Demonstrated experience in managing funding and grant money.
• Basic knowledge of the land use planning process and its application to disaster recovery.
• Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery and mitigation plans.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate and manage diverse teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field is preferred.
• Certification in Emergency Management or a related field is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in challenging situations.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
