EDI Operations Specialist provides support to new trading partners and is responsible for the development and updating of EDI procedures. In this role you will interpret customer EDI data requirements and facilitate integration with other system applications. The EDI Operations Specialist will also troubleshoot and identify daily system issues that impact UGN’s ability to effectively satisfy our EDI and customer needs.
Whatyou will do for UGN:
- Review daily backlog report and write job orders for all new orders.
- Check to ensure adequate inventory is available to complete orders and shipments.
- Work with Materials Manager to set priorities for orders to insure on-time shipments to our customers.
- Prepare a shipping schedule for the shipping department daily.
- Communicate regularly with customer to adjust schedules to accommodate changes.
- Enter the daily production for your assigned products.
- Ensure purchased material is ordered, shipped and delivered to meet scheduled build requirements while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Use of information systems to track and plan for material, inventory, and shipping.
- May prepare receiving report and note record shortages and damaged materials. Prepare and/or assemble required shipping documents.
- May communicate with customers daily to expedite, stop, or change the delivery/shipping of materials.
- May rotate to various positions within the job function area to perform related activities.
- Follow and utilize principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment as a planner/scheduler.
- 3+ years’ experience working on an ERP system preferred AS400.
- Advanced skills using Microsoft software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
