Job Description:

The Drafter utilizes 3D CAD software to create detailed 2D Sketches and 3D Models, based on customer furnished engineering and internal requirements, to be utilized throughout the process of manufacturing aerospace components.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Read and interpret customer supplied engineering, GD&T, and related specs
  • Convert 3D datasets between software’s as necessary
  • Generate 3D Models representing authoritative 2D data
  • Create 1:1 scale mylar PCM’s as necessary
  • Receive customer supplied files and sort them into respective locations on the company network
  • Document unique manufacturing processes with graphical aids (Tech Cards)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing.
  • Gives priority to customer satisfaction and service needs. Provides information and results accurately, courteously, in a timely manner
  • Keeps working area neat and organized. Arrives on time to work. Works to meet deadlines efficiently and complete job assignments within allotted times.
  • Collaborates and cooperates with Operations, EH&S and the Quality Department. Knows when to ask for information and assistance. Demonstrates a willing, positive, and proactive attitude. Follows verbal and written instructions; works independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Takes responsibility for own actions and results
  • Understands and complies with company policies and guidelines as described in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Safety Manual and the Quality Management System. Complies with rules and procedures of a drug-free workplace.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and proficient with CAD software.

Qualifications:

Preferred:

  • Completion of an Aerospace related technical or certificate program
  • Experience using CATIA software
  • Experience using Siemens NX 10 or later
  • Experience with LWG file’s and Adobe

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position works in a combination of office and machine shop environment. This position may be required to enter the warehouse and/or machine shop environment at times throughout the work day; this environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes and vapor from coolant, etc.

Some travel to customer locations is required. This position is part of a team and requires excellent communication skills. It is fast-paced with daily deadlines. This position requires the ability to use computer keyboard and mouse, multi-line phone and various other office machines and equipment. Work requires the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds. Salary Offering: $25.75 per hour to $36.00 per hour

Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
