TITLE CTE Classroom Teacher
REPORTS TO Building Principal and Director of Career & Technical Education
POSITION SUMMARY
The classroom Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher, under the direction of the Building Principal and Director of CTE, will create a program and class environment favorable to the learning and personal growth of students which facilitates student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district-approved curriculum aligned with the state frameworks for the CTE program area; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in life and establish good relationships and rapport with students, parents, and staff members.
The teacher will document student progress, activities, and outcomes; address specific educational needs of students; and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals. The teacher will maintain professional competence through in-service education, coursework, and professional growth activities to maintain and update appropriate CTE certification.
- Valid teaching certificate for the State of Washington with required endorsement in the area of assignment or equivalent experience in the CTE area in which instruction will occur.
- Prior experience in the school setting preferred.
- Such other qualifications as the Board and Superintendent may find appropriate.
- Current valid CPR and First Aid may be required for the specific assignment.
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance.
- I-9 employment eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
- HIV/HBV training (obtain within 60 days of hire date – District provided).
- Human Resources new hire training (obtain within 60 days of hire date – District provided).
- Must currently hold or obtain within the first 6 months of employment a CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
- Must maintain as current any certification or license listed herein and held at hire date and complete any continuing education/training that is required to be effective in the position and to maintain certification.

- Mandatory reporter for incidents of child abuse, harassment, intimidation, bullying, fights, substance abuse etc.
