Job SummaryThe classroom teacher, under the direction of the Building Principal, will create a program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth of students which facilitates student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district-approved curriculum; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in life, and establish good relationships and rapport with students, parents and staff members.
The teacher will document student progress, activities and outcomes; address specific educational needs of students; and provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals. The teacher will maintain professional competence through in-service education, coursework and professional growth activities.
- Valid teaching certificate for the State of Washington with required endorsement in area of assignment
- Prior experience in the school setting preferred
- Other qualifications as determined by Board and Superintendent acceptable
- Current valid CPR and First Aid may be required for the specific assignment
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance
- I-9 employment eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act
- HIV/HBV training obtained within 60 days of hire date (District provided)
- Human Resources new hire training obtained within 60 days of hire date (District provided)

This is a sedentary position with light work that involves sitting a portion of the time, but requires walking and standing for extended periods. The position requires accurate perception of sound, near and far vision, depth perception; handling and working with educational and psychological materials; and providing highly technical oral and written information and reports. The job is performed mostly indoors with minimal temperature variations;
