- Job Info: This is a long‑term leave replacement position with an anticipated end date of 12/18/2026. Pay is prorated for actual FTE worked. Pay rates listed are for 2025‑26; 2026‑27 rates pending board approval. This position is for a K‑12 ASL teacher for a leave replacement. Courses include K‑2 ASL, 3‑5 ASL, Middle School ASL, and High School ASL 1 and 2.
This is a Tuesday through Friday position. Tues and Thurs 9am‑4pm, Wed 8:30am‑4pm, and Fri 8:30am‑12pm. - Benefit Info:

The classroom teacher, under the direction of the Building Principal, will create a program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth of students which facilitates student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district‑approved curriculum; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in life, and establish good relationships and rapport with students, parents and staff members.
The teacher will document student progress, activities and outcomes; address specific educational needs of students; and provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals. The teacher will maintain professional competence through in‑service education, coursework and professional growth activities.
- Valid teaching certificate for the State of Washington with required endorsement.
- Multiple endorsements preferred.
- Experience in teaching in an alternative school, preferably a parent partnership program.
- Prior experience in the school setting preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
- Ability to work with minimum direction, but work as an effective member of a team.
- Current valid CPR and First Aid may be required for the specific assignment.
- Experience with Homeschooling.
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance.
- I‑9 employment eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
- HIV/HBV training (obtain within 60 days of hire date – District provided).
- Human Resources new hire training (obtain within 60 days of hire date – District provided).
