Prior to applying for aparaeducator position you must meet the following requirements:

Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent AND

• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, OR
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university, OR
• Completed an apprenticeship as a para educator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council, OR
• Received a passing score on one of the PESB approved assessments (see Monroe SD employment information page for more information)

Position Info:

• Employees accepting positions in this category are not eligible to transfer to instructional or non-instructional para positions for two (2) years from the date the assignment begins. Current PSE members must apply within 5 days to be guaranteed consideration for position.

Job Info:

• This is a temporary 30 day position.
• Hourly rates are for 2025-26; 26-27 rates are pending bargaining agreement completion.
• Screening of applicants will begin during the first week of August 6, 2026.
