Prior to applying for aparaeducator position you must meet the following requirements:

Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent AND

• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, OR
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university, OR
• Completed an apprenticeship as a para educator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council, OR
• Received a passing score on one of the PESB approved assessments (see Monroe SD employment information page for more information)

Position Info:

• Employees accepting positions in this category are not eligible to transfer to instructional or non-instructional para positions for two (2) years from the date the assignment begins.
• Current PSE members must apply within 5 days to be guaranteed consideration for position.
• Pay rates listed are for 2025-26; 2026-27 rates are to be determined upon CBA ratification/board approval.
