POSITION SUMMARY

The Integrated Co-Occurring Disorder Therapist is a grant-funded position responsible for working with students who present substance use issues and mental health needs. The therapist will be involved in the administration of the standardized initial and repeated assessments, and manualized, integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)/ Motivational Interviewing (MI)/Contingency Management (CM)} for adolescents experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health problems.

Considerable and ongoing training in CBT/MI/CM will be provided as the therapist implements the Integrative Cognitive Therapies Program (ICTP) model, in consultation with community mental health provider Therapeutic Health Services ICTP Consultants. The therapist will work closely with high school principals, school counselors, student assistance professionals and student support advocates.

In conjunction with providing ICTP to young people experiencing co-occurring disorders, responsibilities include audio recording and reviewing therapy sessions for fidelity/adherence to the program, maintaining clinical progress notes, preparing written reports, collaborating with participants and family members, participating in team meetings at the Therapeutic Health Services site, school team meetings, and as arranged, conference calls with the Integrated Cognitive Therapies Program Consultants.

The therapist will also receive training to offer ICTP Parent Coaching individually to families or in a group.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • S. or M.A. in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or related field. LICSW, LMFT, or LMHC preferred. At minimum,
