Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1923 that helps people get jobs across Northwest Washington by offering high‑quality free job training, education and placement. Over 2,000 employees work at five training centers, 23 retail stores and more than 27 donation sites throughout King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom and Kitsap counties.

Material Handler

Department: Production
FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt
Reports to: Material Handler Supervisor

The Material Handler unloads donations from containers and moves goods to appropriate production areas.

Pay Rate: $17.13 / hour

• Remove and sort salvage material and garbage from salable goods.
• Sort donations into appropriate bins for further processing.
• Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor.
• Use cardboard compactors and identify problems.
• Maintain donor tallies.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and report potential hazards.
• Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
• If certified: safely operate forklift per Seattle Goodwill standards.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Communicate effectively with others, including those with limited English skills.

• High school graduate or equivalency preferred (not required).
• No prior experience required.
• Minimum age: 18 years.

Optional:
Seattle Goodwill forklift certification (must meet eligibility requirements).

Lift and carry up to 30‑40 pounds; stand, bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, push, climb ladders, and travel across varied surfaces.
