Maintenance Technician

Jaspen’s Inc. – Monroe, WA Full-Time | Monday - Friday

Jaspen’s is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician to support our food manufacturing operation.

This is a hands on position responsible for preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and repairs, general facility maintenance, and daily production support. The goal of this position is simple: keep our equipment safe, reliable, and ready for production while minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Support Production with daily startup activities to help ensure equipment is safe, operational, and ready for production.
  • Respond promptly when Production needs maintenance assistance or equipment support.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
  • Inspect equipment and identify potential problems before breakdowns occur.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment issues.
  • Replace and repair common components such as bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, motors, sensors, pumps, valves, and pneumatic components.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting within training and qualifications.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns during production.
  • Assist with equipment adjustments, installations, and improvement projects.
  • Perform general facility and warehouse maintenance.
  • Maintain maintenance tools, spare parts, and supplies in an organized manner.
  • Document preventive maintenance, repairs, and follow-up work.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA, GMP, SQF, food safety, and company safety requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance work does not create a food safety or contamination risk.
Qualifications:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands on troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience maintaining and/or repairing machinery, equipment, vehicles, forklift or similar mechanical systems.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems such as motors, bearings, belts, chains, pumps, and pneumatic components.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred; food manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Basic electrical, welding, or fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Willing to learn and take ownership of preventive maintenance, equipment condition, and daily production support.
  • Able to communicate effectively with Production and respond promptly when assistance is needed.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work in awkward positions for extended periods.
  • Able to regularly lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
  • Able to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, temperature changes, dust, moisture, cleaning chemicals, food-processing environments.
  • Able to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety footwear, and other task-specific PPE.
  • Able to work scheduled shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to occasional emergency maintenance needs as required.
