As an Inventory Receiver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of our inventory management. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the receiving and shipping of freight effectively, helping to keep inventory shortages below store goals and helping to maximize sales. You'll interact with customers and team members, support sales initiatives, and perform various essential tasks while providing a Legendary Customer Experience.
Additionally, you will promote a safe and productive environment for team members, customers, and vendors, adhering to Tractor Supply Company safety training and guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts, with availability to vary hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required by business needs.
- Provide Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
- Greet the Customer.
- Uncover Customer's Needs & Wants.
- Recommend Product Solutions.
- Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
- Be accountable for processing inbound and outbound freight.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and adhere to loss prevention standards.
- Recover merchandise as needed.
- Participate in mandatory freight processing activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Stock, tag, and manage assigned work areas, including outdoor merchandise displays.
- Operatively handle cash register and computer systems in accordance with company cash handling procedures.
- Ensure customers enjoy a Legendary shopping experience that sets us apart from the competition.
- Handle rotation and disposition of dated products.
- Assemble merchandise as required.
- Operate necessary equipment, including forklifts and cardboard balers.
- Care for birds and maintain poultry holding tanks as required.
- Complete all documentation associated with the above duties.
- Obtain necessary licenses or certifications for the role.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience:
Shipping/receiving experience preferred; retail experience or knowledge of farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding is a strong plus. Must be 18 years or older and possess a valid driver's license. - Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and count accurately, regardless of education level.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic computer skills/experience.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
- Indoor work environment with moderate noise levels.
- Work shifts typically range from 4 hours to over 8 hours, varying by store.
- Indoor and outdoor surfaces (concrete, asphalt) with adequate lighting and temperature.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Commit to promoting safety and adherence to company safety training and guidelines.
- This is a non-sedentary position.
- The role requires physical and mental stamina to move swiftly and safely throughout the store and outdoor areas.
- Must be able to operate forklifts and other necessary equipment (age restrictions may apply).
- Ability to push or pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with proper equipment assistance.
- Frequent lifting or reaching for merchandise, with a maximum weight of 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb as required.
- Must communicate effectively using strong written and verbal skills.
- Ability to safely handle birds/poultry as needed.
- Complete all required training and certifications for the role.
