Foreman

Skills and Qualifications

This position requires individuals to maximize efficiency and productivity, it is crucial for a Foreman to have analytical skills for handling unexpected issues and delays while resolving any problems that may arise. It’s also helpful for a Foreman to possess the following qualifications and skills.

Requirements and Skills
  • Proven experience as a construction foreman.
  • Journeyman carpenter skills of at least 4 years.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Aptitude in math.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Good physical condition and stamina.
  • High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.).
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
  • Produce schedules and check the attendance of the crew.
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities.
  • Supervise and train workers and tradespeople.
  • Ensure labor and resources are adequate.
  • Guarantee quality standards are met.
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure the project stays within budget.
  • Resolve problems in a prompt fashion.
  • Report on progress to Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and L&I
  • Conduct safety meetings, ensure use of PPE.

Physical Requirements

This is a position that requires the Foreman to frequently walk, stand, and climb stairs in/around apartment homes, models, and properties. Must also use computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 75 lbs.
