Role DescriptionThe Preconstruction Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Monroe, WI. This position oversees the preconstruction process from initial concept through handoff to construction, including reviewing project plans, coordinating with design professionals, and preparing accurate estimates and budgets. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing drawings and specifications, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids, developing cost models, and refining scopes of work.
The Preconstruction Manager also prepares proposals, participates in client meetings, supports value engineering efforts, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure projects are feasible, competitive, and aligned with company standards.
- Strong skills in Construction Estimating and Cost Management to develop accurate pricing and evaluate project financials.
- Experience with Budgeting and financial planning for construction projects, including monitoring and updating cost forecasts.
- Proficiency in Design Management, working with plans, specifications, and design teams to align project scope and constructability.
- Ability in Proposal Writing, including preparation of detailed scopes, narratives, and supporting documentation for clients.
- Knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and local building codes and regulations.
- Competence with construction software, estimating tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Relevant experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
