Human Resources Safety Compliance Generalist

Full Time Professional Monroe, WI, US

Salary Range: $55,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually

The HR Safety Compliance Generalist will be on‑site supporting employees and site leadership with daily human resources, safety, and compliance functions within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for assisting with employee relations, onboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration, workers’ compensation coordination, safety compliance, training, and maintaining employee records while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The HR Safety Compliance Generalist partners closely with operations and leadership teams to promote a safe, compliant, and employee‑focused workplace culture.

Duties and Responsibilities Human Resources Responsibilities
  • Assist employees and site management team with daily HR support and employee relations matters.
  • Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation, including required HR and safety training.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS system data integrity.
  • Ensure all employee timecards are complete, accurate, and approved by weekly payroll deadlines.
  • Assist with weekly payroll processing, including payroll submissions, attendance verification, payroll adjustments, and responding to payroll‑related inquiries.
  • Receive, investigate, and respond to employee questions related to payroll, benefits, leave requests, and HR policies.
  • Lead benefit explanations, leave of absence coordination, and workers’ compensation reporting and administration.
  • Partner with the Director of Human Resources regarding disciplinary processes, corrective actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support recruiting initiatives and hiring goals.
  • Conduct and/or assist with preparation and filing of mandatory reports, audits, EEO-1 filings, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with HR projects, employee engagement activities, and coordination of company events.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and company information.
Safety & Compliance Responsibilities
  • Assist in administering the facility safety program and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Conduct safety orientations and coordinate ongoing safety training programs.
  • Maintain OSHA logs, incident reports, SDS documentation, training records, and other compliance documentation.
  • Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Investigate workplace injuries, incidents, and near misses and assist with corrective action implementation.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and return‑to‑work processes.
  • Monitor PPE compliance and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Support emergency response planning, evacuation procedures, and safety committee initiatives.
  • Assist leadership in reinforcing workplace safety best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years of experience supporting Human Resources functions in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, employment law, payroll practices, and HR compliance requirements preferred.
  • Benefits administration experience preferred.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, payroll systems, and HRIS platforms.
  • Ability to provide consultation, guidance, and handle sensitive matters professionally and confidentially.
  • Excellent facilitation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to conduct presentations and training across all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to interface effectively with employees, leadership, vendors, and external agencies.
  • Must be dependable, professional, organized, and confident.
Preferred Certifications

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent walking throughout manufacturing and production areas.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying manufacturing conditions including noise, heat, and moving equipment.
