As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in data and software development, defining and implementing modern, flexible architectures that bridge legacy systems and next‑generation cloud platforms. You will leverage cloud computing, big data technologies, and Dev Ops practices within an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment to enable scalable, secure, and intelligent data solutions. This role is critical in transforming traditional data ecosystems—including COBOL and JCL‑based pipelines—into modern, cloud‑native architectures while incorporating AI‑driven engineering practices such as model context protocols (MCP), intelligent agents, and continuous skills evolution.

• Direct involvement in legacy‑to‑cloud transformation (COBOL/JCL AWS)
• Hands‑on use of AI in the data engineering lifecycle (agents, MCP, automation)
• Opportunity to shape modern data architecture strategy while preserving critical business logic
• Strong focus on scalability, automation, and intelligent data processing

• BS in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience in modern programming languages preferred. (Python and SQL are required)
• Knowledge of PySpark, Apache Flink, Kafka, & Spark is preferred
• Experience using cloud‑based technologies such as AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud
• Knowledge of AWS database services (primarily Redshift, RDS, & Dynamo)
• Knowledge of C# or C+, Java, ETL is helpful
• Knowledge of AI chatbot services such as ChatGPT, Bard, CoPilot, etc.
• Experience with client‑server applications, web‑based applications, software integration, and database/data modeling design
• Proven ability to master new technologies
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills
• Strong analytical capabilities with a creative and innovative approach to solutions
• Ability to ensure that solutions are secure, efficient, scalable, and supportable
• Ability to communicate in business terms and build a strong relationship with stakeholders
