Position Title: Material Handler
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Shift: 2nd
Hours: 3:00pm-1:30am
QPS Employment Group has a great Material Handler position available at a company in Monroe, WI. The Material Handler position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to an essential warehouse environment within the automotive industry. This role involves physically handling and moving materials, supporting overall warehouse operations, and ensuring materials are accurately received, stored, and dispatched.
Responsibilities- Read work orders or follow oral instructions to identify materials or containers to be moved.
- Open containers to verify counts and specifications.
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Operate forklifts and electric hoists (once trained and certified) to assist in moving materials.
- Secure loads with strapping, padding, or bracing to prevent shifting during transit.
- Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
- Attach labels, identify tags, and mark information on containers or cases.
- Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together.
- Remove samples of materials and take them to laboratories for analysis.
- Make simple adjustments or repairs to equipment, including realigning belts or replacing rollers.
- Assist delivery drivers with loading and unloading items.
- Shovel loose materials such as sand, gravel, or metals into machines or containers.
- Assemble crates to contain products such as machinery or vehicles.
- Count, weigh and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and lift 10-20 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Standing, bending, twisting, and reaching throughout the entire shift.
- Ability to work in various climates and conditions during shift.
- Valid certification to operate forklift and overhead hoist is preferred.
- Basic reading, writing, and comprehension skills necessary for following instructions and record-keeping.
- Minimum zero years of experience; training will be provided.
