Responsibilities
  • Reads and comprehends blueprints.
  • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding from blueprints.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack‑welds part to secure in position for welding.
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts, GMAW MIG.
  • Fabricate and design non‑engineered parts.
Requirements
  • One year certificate from college or technical school in welding/fabrication or relevant experience.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
  • Ability to work arms above the head and ability to work from crawling or lying positions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and carry out instructions as detailed in blueprints.
  • Ability to understand and operate all safety equipment in the area.
  • Proficient in adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Proficient in the computation of rate, ratio, and percent and its application in practical situations.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
