Manual Machinist

Basic Function

Machine components to print specifications using manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, drillpresses etc.

• Read and interpret blue prints and follow various work instructions.
• Proficient using measuring instruments and gauges.
• Ability to work well with fellow employees including active participation in employee involvement activities and problem solving.
• Fully support and participate in promoting safety at all times.

Maintain clean, efficient work area. Ability to work well with minimum supervision.

High school diploma or GED.

2 years preferred but not required.

Standing, bending, lifting objects weighing up to 30 lbs. for approximately 20 to 50 times during an 8 to 12 hr. work shift. Dexterity required includes the ability to safely work with power and hand tools.

Normal hazards associated with working in a metal fabricating environment. Personal protection equipment required consists of safety glasses, steel-toe shoes and hearing protection. Additional personal protection equipment may be required and is dependent upon the work being performed, and may include: face shield, respirator etc.
