Overview

Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. Seal containers or materials using glues, fasteners, nails, and hand tools. Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers using hand tools.

• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure packing specifications are met.
• Sort, weigh, and inspect products; adjust product weight or measurement to meet specifications.
• Verify accuracy and correctness of product identification labels and attach them to finished packaged items.
• Load cheese products into packaging processing equipment; operate packaging equipment and stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur.
• Clear machine jams and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
• Package finished product into plastic to be shrink wrapped, and may pack into buckets, pails, or cartons; stack pallets and move totes on rolling racks.
• Clean containers, materials, supplies, and work areas using cleaning solutions and hand tools; sanitize equipment and work areas as needed and directed.
• Prepare supplies and labels; verify and document product codes; complete sanitation and packaging paperwork correctly.
• Move pallets of cheese and totes in and out of production areas; palletize packaged product.
• Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
• Tend or operate machines that package product; stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur and report to a supervisor.
• Other related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

• New Job Opening! Packaging line duties including packing finished product into plastic for shrink wrap, and packing into buckets, pails, or cartons.
• Ability to verify product codes and ensure materials are correct; complete packaging and sanitation paperwork accurately.
• Experience related to cleaning, sanitizing equipment, and work areas; operating packaging equipment.
• Shift: 1st shift, 5:00am - done (typically 8-9 hour shifts), Monday-Friday plus every other Saturday.
• Pay rate: $19.00/hour; may pay more for experienced workers.
