Job Duties:
Examples of duties involved in this type of position include cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery; and work areas in the facility (the temperature in this location is cooler, around 50 degrees), using brushes, hoses, and chemical cleaning agents to ensure the highest of food safety standards are met.
- Utilize detergents, sanitizers, brushes and high-pressure hose to clean production equipment and rooms in assigned area.
- Measure, weigh, or mix cleaning solutions, using measuring tanks, calibrated rods or suction tubes.
- Observe machine operations, gauges, or thermometers, and adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.
- Set controls to regulate temperature and length of cycles, and start conveyors, pumps, agitators, and machines.
- Drain, clean, and refill machines or tanks at designated intervals, using cleaning solutions or water.
- Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, and crouching during long periods of time.
- The sanitation worker is required to work in an environment that is wet, humid and warm.
- Communicate and work effectively with other Sanitation personnel and Supervisor.
- Must adhere to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and HACCP pre-requisite programs, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines or Federal regulations.
- Frequently lift/move hoses and related equipment throughout every work shift.
- Exposure to and use of chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear).
- Assist in the operation of production lines as needed, including operating or tending machines.
- Other related additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager, which may include assisting with packaging duties.
Shift: 2:00 pm-11:00 pm - until done (typically 8-9 hour shift), Monday-Friday plus every other Saturday 1:00 pm until done.
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour with an additional $2.00, 2nd shift premium, will pay more for experienced workers!
QualificationsRequirements:
- Cheese/food industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- A good attendance record is required.
- Candidate must be a team player.
- Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift, with frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping and lifting up to 50 pounds.
