Salary Range: $21.79 To $24.05 Hourly

3rd Shift, Monday - Thursday, 7:30pm - 6am, OT as required

3rd Shift Premium: +$2/hr.

Job Summary

The Line Lead or Team Lead is responsible for operating packaging equipment, leading production line activities, and supporting the day-to-day performance of the packaging team. This role helps ensure production goals are achieved while maintaining the highest standards for food safety, quality, sanitation, and employee safety.

The Lead provides direction and support to Operators, Line Haulers, Cutters, and General Labor employees, promotes teamwork, and serves as a resource for resolving production issues throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review the daily production schedule and communicate production priorities to the packaging team.
  • Verify that the correct packaging materials and supplies are available and being used.
  • Operate packaging equipment and troubleshoot routine production issues.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and company policies.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety procedures and PPE requirements; identify and report unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor production efficiency and adjust staffing or workflow to maximize line performance.
  • Coordinate employee assignments, line rotations, and break coverage.
  • Assist with employee coaching and work with supervisors and Human Resources regarding employee relations concerns.
  • Monitor brine times and packaging times according to production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production records, sanitation documentation, and required paperwork.
  • Ensure packaging areas remain organized, clean, and audit‑ready throughout the shift.
  • Obtain and maintain required certifications, including pallet jack operation and QA metal detection.
  • Other assigned tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively direct and motivate a production team in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to food safety, quality, and workplace safety.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to assist teammates and support production needs.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production priorities.
  • Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience leading or directing employees is required.
  • Previous food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience operating production or packaging equipment is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for up to 11 hours per shift.
  • Frequently reach overhead, bend, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, including refrigerated and warm production areas.
  • Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
