Dearth Automotive (Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram) in Monroe is accepting applications for our Automotive Sales Consultant role! Responsibilities include developing buyers and keeping/building relationships with previous and new customers. Previous automotive background or sales experience is preferred. Responsibilities- Develop buyers by keeping good rapport with previous and new customers; suggesting trade‑ins, responding to inquiries, recommending sales campaigns and promotions
- Qualify buyers by understanding their interests and requirements and matching them to various models
- Close sales, complete sales or purchase contracts and explain provisions
- Understand automobiles by studying their features and capabilities, as well as comparing and contrasting competitive models
- Update your job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Figure out customer needs by actively listening and asking relevant direct questions
- Perform walk‑around with customers and demonstrate features of suitable vehicles
- Ensure customer understands all operating features, paperwork and warranties
- Establish and maintain a follow‑up system that encourages repeat business and referrals
- Report to sales manager regarding reviews, analyses, objectives and planned activities
- Review sales statistics and plan effectively to improve sales
- Associate’s degree or comparable work experience
- At least 1‑3 years of sales experience; vehicle sales is preferred
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Possess understanding and knowledge of equity and values, automobile depreciation and local, state, and federal laws that guide automobiles
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written; able to explain technical information in a clear way
- Must be able to meet minimum quota according to dealership standards
- Possess a persuasive, self‑confident and positive attitude
- Excellent mathematical, computer and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneously
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and results driven
- Ability to work 8‑10 hour days
- Ability to work outdoors and in an environment with occasional exposure to weather elements
