Roofing Laborer

This role offers an opportunity to enter and learn the commercial flat roofing trade as a general laborer. You will support roofing crews on industrial and commercial projects by moving materials around the construction site, assisting roofers with tasks, and regularly using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) along with hand and power tools. The position is physically demanding, performed entirely outdoors, and ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to grow into a skilled trade.

Responsibilities
  • Move roofing materials and equipment around commercial and industrial construction sites in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist experienced roofers with various tasks on flat roofing projects, following directions and learning trade skills on the job.
  • Use hand tools and power tools regularly to support roofing and general labor activities while adhering to safety procedures.
  • Wear and maintain proper PPE at all times, including hard hat and safety vest, and follow all site safety rules and guidelines.
  • Perform physically demanding work such as lifting 75–100 lbs on a regular basis and carrying materials across the jobsite.
  • Work at heights comfortably and safely, including on flat roofs and elevated surfaces.
  • Work outdoors 100% of the time in all weather conditions, maintaining productivity and safety standards.
  • Travel independently to jobsites, typically within 45 minutes and occasionally up to 1.5 hours from the shop.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and arrive on time for the 7:00 a.m. start, ready to work through the full shift.
  • Collaborate with a crew of 2–5 team members, contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment.

You will join a company that is committed to training and developing people into skilled trades, offering a clear path for growth within the roofing and construction industry. The team values positive attitudes and a collaborative, supportive culture where you work closely with a small crew and learn directly on the job. This environment provides opportunities for advancement, long-term career development, and the chance to build a stable future in a high-demand trade while working regular daytime hours.
