Special Education Teacher
Midfield Elementary School, School Board District 4, Midfield City, Alabama
Position SummaryThe Special Education Teacher will work collaboratively with school staff, students, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the unique learning needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare course objectives and outlines that align with district curriculum standards.
- Develop and update individualized education plans for students requiring special education services.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Provide instructional support customized to individual learning abilities.
- Maintain accurate attendance, enrollment, and data records for students on the district roster.
- Ensure compliance with district and state regulations governing special education services.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Class B teaching credential with appropriate endorsement from the State of Alabama.
- Certification by the State of Alabama in special education.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a similar setting preferred.
- Special Education Recruitment, Retention, and Incentive Program: $6,000 distributed over three years ($2,000 annually).
