Finishing Carpenter (Commercial Construction)

Aerotek is hiring a Finishing Carpenter (Commercial Construction) $25-$35/hr with weekly pay!

This role focuses on high-quality installation and finishing of interior systems on commercial construction projects. You will work with metal and wood stud framing, drywall, doors, ceilings, trim, and casework, delivering precise and durable results. The position is ideal for a craftsperson who takes pride in detailed finish work, operates efficiently, and consistently prioritizes safety and quality on every job site.

Responsibilities
  • Install metal and wood stud framing and associated drywall systems on commercial construction projects.
  • Tape, mud, and finish drywall to a high-quality, paint-ready standard.
  • Install doors, frames, hardware, and interior trim with precise fit and finish.
  • Set and install casework, millwork, and other finish carpentry components.
  • Measure, cut, and lay out materials accurately to minimize waste and ensure proper fit.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to execute work correctly.
  • Ensure all work meets established quality standards and project deadlines.
  • Use hand and power tools properly and safely for framing, drywall, and finish carpentry tasks.
Essential Skills
  • 2+ years of carpentry or finish carpentry experience in commercial construction preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with metal stud framing, drywall installation, and interior finish work.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications and translate them into accurate field work.
  • Strong measurement skills and ability to perform precise layout and cutting.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in framing, drywall, and finish carpentry.
  • Proven finish carpentry skills, including trim work, doors, frames, hardware, and casework installation.
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and repetitive movements throughout the day.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to various commercial job sites.

  • Experience working on active commercial construction sites.
  • Background in rough carpentry as well as finish carpentry is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with firm project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean, organized work area.

Environment

Work takes place on active commercial construction sites, primarily indoors with occasional outdoor tasks depending on project needs. The role is physically demanding and involves frequent standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and repetitive movements throughout the day. You will be exposed to typical construction conditions, including dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment is required at all times, and there is a strong emphasis on safety with strict adherence to established safety policies and procedures.

You will work in a team-oriented environment alongside experienced tradespeople and supervisors in a fast-paced setting focused on meeting project deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship, using standard hand and power tools for framing, drywall, and finish carpentry.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
