Location:
Hybrid (Monrovia, CA). We are initially prioritizing candidates based in Southern California who can work a hybrid schedule (coming into the Monrovia office 2–4 times a month, with potentially once-a-week onboarding/training). However, we are also fully open to out-of-state candidates who have proven experience working successfully in a 100% remote capacity!
Reporting directly to the Director of Communications, you will serve as the primary visual storyteller for the Foundation, developing brand-aligned creative across both print and digital channels. You will partner across all departments to develop creative assets for fundraising campaigns, donor communications, signature events (like our head-shaving events!), partnerships, and digital marketing.
Working closely with our Sr. Social Media Specialist, you will also create platform-native graphics and short-form, social-first content using existing footage, photos, trending formats, and other creative assets.
Creative & Brand Leadership- Serve as the steward of the Foundation’s visual identity, developing creative direction and translating complex scientific, fundraising, and impact stories into clear, compelling visuals.
- Act as the lead designer across departments, managing and prioritizing multiple creative requests while providing guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Design materials for major campaigns, head-shaving events, peer-to-peer fundraising programs, seasonal giving, donor communications, and advocacy initiatives.
- Create print and digital collateral including reports, brochures, signage, banners, merchandise, t-shirts, partnership materials, presentations, email, and digital advertising assets.
- Oversee print production, including preparing print-ready files and coordinating with external vendors.
- Create branded PowerPoint presentations and user-friendly Canva templates that enable staff to produce consistent, on-brand materials.
- Design social graphics, infographics, motion assets, and quick-turn, short-form video content.
- Use existing footage, photography, text, audio, templates, and trending formats to create social-first content using tools like Cap Cut, Canva, and in-app editors.
- Stay current on social trends and identify relevant opportunities for the Foundation to participate and drive engagement.
- Organize and maintain photography, video, design files, templates, and other digital assets.
- Manage and update shared creative resources used by staff and volunteers.
- Experience:
3+ years of professional graphic design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling across print and digital channels. - Adobe Creative Cloud:
Expert proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. - Figma & Canva:
Strong experience with Figma and expertise creating and managing Canva brand kits and scalable templates. - Social-First Content:
Experience creating engaging short-form, mobile-first content (Reels, Tik Toks) using accessible tools like Cap Cut, Canva, and in-app editors. (

This role is not responsible for professional video production; higher-production video work is handled by our in-house videographer). - Print Production:
Strong understanding of print production, file preparation, and vendor coordination. - Project Management:
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities across departments while meeting deadlines. - Communication:
