We have an opportunity for an experienced Trial Paralegal to join our California office located in the Monrovia/Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced trial environment, is highly organized, and excels at managing complex logistics before and during trial.
This position is hybrid: 2 days in office, 3 days remote when out of trial. And, when supporting the attorneys at trial, full on-site presence is required. Role may travel to northern California for trial on occasion.
Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of assigned cases with a strong focus on trial preparation and trial support, from pre-trial through verdict
- Serve as a key member of the trial team, responsible for organizing and running the trial war room
- Prepare, organize, and maintain trial notebooks, trial binders, trial boxes, and exhibit sets for court, witnesses, and counsel
- Coordinate, track, and manage trial exhibits, including exhibit lists, numbering, labeling, and admission status
- Manage and organize trial documents and demonstratives, ensuring real-time access for attorneys during trial
- Receive, process, and organize documents into the firm’s document management system and electronic document repository
- Assist with preparing motions in limine, trial briefs, exhibit lists, witness lists, and jury instructions
- Manage, organize, and summarize certified transcripts, including deposition and trial transcripts
- Coordinate with experts regarding retention, scheduling, document exchange, and trial testimony
- Maintain client extranets with up-to-date case and trial materials and use as a primary communication tool with clients
- Assist with and manage document productions, including trial-related productions
- Enter and track pertinent case data (interrogatory responses, records, earnings information, etc.) into databases
- Provide hands-on support during trial, including courtroom setup, daily exhibit management, and end-of-day organization
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of trial attorneys and litigation teams
- Track billable time in firm’s time entry system
- At least three years of litigation paralegal experience
- Asbestos, Toxic Tort, Products Liability, or Personal Injury experience preferred
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle large volume of work
- Ability to attend trials, both locally and nationally
- E xperience with trial war room and trial support.
