Assistant Superintendent, Business Services
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent, Business Services serves as Monrovia Unified School District's (MUSD) Chief Business Official and executive leader for all business and operational services. The position plans, directs, and evaluates MUSD's fiscal operations, facilities, maintenance and operations, technology, procurement, risk management, nutrition services, transportation, and related business functions. In addition, the position provides strategic financial leadership, long-range planning, and organizational support to the Superintendent and Board of Education to ensure MUSD's fiscal stability, operational effectiveness, and successful implementation of district priorities.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in school business administration, finance, or related administrative functions, preferably in a California public agency. Leadership:
Demonstrated success in budget development, fiscal planning, supervising staff, and leading multi-functional operations.
Competencies:
Strong background in facilities planning, risk management, labor relations, collective bargaining support, and presenting recommendations to executive boards.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
Certifications:
California Administrative Services Credential and California Association of School Business Officials Chief Business Official Certification are highly desirable.
MUSD is nestled in the foothill community of Monrovia, a historic 137-year-old city located in the northeast San Gabriel Valley. Serving a diverse community of approximately 4,800 students, MUSD is comprised of an early learning center, 5 elementary schools, 1 middle school, 1 comprehensive high school, 2 alternative schools, and a community adult school. MUSD has an annual General Fund operating budget of $95,000,000.
