We are an industry-leading provider of high-precision manufacturing equipment and automation solutions powering critical applications across aerospace, medical device, electronics, and automotive tech. We don't just sell equipment; we solve complex engineering challenges that enable next-generation technology to come to life. Ready to shape the future of cutting-edge industrial automation? As our Principal Systems Automation Engineer, you will serve as the premier technical authority driving next-generation software architecture, high-precision controls, artificial intelligence, and edge machine vision across our elite system operations.

In this role, you will enjoy technical autonomy to chart the path forward—pioneering intelligent solutions that turn complex engineering concepts into high-reliability, real-world automated systems. If you thrive on solving high-stakes technical puzzles and building hyper-intelligent machinery, this is your launchpad.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Software & Vision Engineering:
Architect high-performance software systems integrating motion control, safety, and deep-learning vision pipelines (PyTorch, Tensor Flow, OpenCV, HALCON) for real-time inspection and anomaly detection.
  • Edge AI & Data Systems:
Lead ML deployment on edge hardware while building robust SCADA/HMI platforms for live visualization, industrial data networking (MQTT, IIoT, Factory Talk), and remote operations.
  • Controls & Hardware Integration:
Design and validate real-time control frameworks across PLCs, CNCs, and motion hardware using protocols like OPC-UA, Modbus TCP, and TCP/IP.
  • Frameworks & Standards:
Establish modular C#/.NET reusable code libraries, set architectural benchmarks, and manage code releases via Azure Dev Ops aligned with UL, CE, and NFPA guidelines.
  • Drive collaborative execution across multidisciplinary engineering, QA, production, and client-facing teams.
  • Author key technical frameworks, system interfaces, and comprehensive release documentation.
  • Elevate team capabilities by mentoring controls engineers in modern design patterns, software architecture, and emerging AI tools.
Qualifications

• Expert-level C#  engineering expertise combined with deep industrial automation experience using Studio 5000 / RSLogix platforms.

• Hands-on mastery in machine learning, computer vision, SCADA platforms, and distributed systems architecture.

• Strong ability to interface industrial fieldbus networks and translate complex electrical/mechanical schematics.

• Outstanding communication skills to interface with cross-functional stakeholders and support global deployments as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field required (Master's or PhD highly preferred).

• 10+ years in complex software architecture and industrial automation controls.

• 5+ years of dedicated experience building machine vision and AI/ML applications.

• Agile/PMI project management training or relevant technical certifications are a definite plus.
