Maintenance Mechanic
This role involves working on a first-shift schedule as part of a collaborative maintenance team to perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment. You will help keep production equipment, vehicles, forklifts, and related systems in reliable working condition by inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issues while supporting smooth day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities- Inspect and perform routine maintenance on machinery, vehicles, forklifts, and other production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Identify mechanical problems visually and through the use of computer diagnostic equipment, and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Repair and replace mechanical components, including parts related to hydraulics, pneumatics, and other mechanical systems.
- Monitor and maintain parts and equipment inventory, including tracking usage and coordinating replacement of components as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the maintenance team to plan, prioritize, and complete maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Communicate regularly with production workers to understand equipment issues, ensure they have what they need, and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Support safe work practices by using appropriate tools and techniques and following established maintenance and safety procedures.
- Assist with general upkeep of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment to maintain an organized and safe workspace.
- Hands-on maintenance experience working with equipment and machinery in an industrial or similar environment.
- Proven experience performing preventative maintenance on production equipment or related machinery.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, including the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues.
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
- Ability to perform maintenance and repairs on forklifts or similar material-handling equipment.
- Ability to identify mechanical problems visually and with computer diagnostic equipment.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of routine maintenance tasks.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other maintenance team members and production staff.
- Clear communication skills to discuss issues and solutions with coworkers and production personnel.

- Automotive technician skills that can translate well into industrial maintenance work.
- Interest in further technical training or education supported by the company.
- Comfort working with a variety of mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential equipment issues.
- Organizational skills to help track parts, tools, and maintenance activities.

WorkEnvironment
The facility produces specialty siding and railings and operates on a large property that includes approximately 60 acres of lumber. Lumber is cut to specific sizes and prepared for distribution to customers and distributors, creating a dynamic and active production environment. The maintenance team supports a range of machinery, vehicles, forklifts, and equipment across the site. This is a first-shift role, with typical hours from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering a consistent daytime schedule.
You will work around industrial equipment and materials in a manufacturing setting, using mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment as part of your daily tasks.
This is a Permanent position based out of Monson, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
Smaller company - willing to send people out for schooling to advance skills
