Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

Clark Fork Valley Hospital seeks a Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations for our critical access hospital and clinics. Responsibilities include managing the general ledger, month-end close, budgeting and forecasting, grant and fund accounting, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and healthcare regulations. The Controller will lead revenue cycle and reimbursement analysis, support audits and cost reports, optimize internal controls, and provide decision-support reporting to leadership.

This role partners closely with clinical and operational leaders, contributing to sustainable, community-focused care in a rural healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hospital and clinic accounting operations and general ledger
• Manage month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets and forecasts
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reports
• Support Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, reimbursement, and revenue cycle analysis
• Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Coordinate external audits and ensure regulatory and compliance adherence
• Provide financial analysis and decision support to leadership and department managers
• Oversee cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, promoting accuracy and service orientation
