Job Overview

The First Judicial District Adult Treatment Program provides supervision, accountability, and treatment for adult felony drug and DUI offenders in the greater Helena area. The Treatment Court Coordinator is responsible for the administration of the program, including but not limited to development of program materials, program development, public speaking engagements, and building community awareness. The coordinator prepares and submits monthly budget reports to the lead agency, organizes regular treatment team meetings, manages the court’s schedule, maintains treatment court files, works with the treatment team, communicates regularly with participants and providers, and makes program changes at the direction of the presiding treatment court judge.

Qualifications include experience working with multi‑agency systems and working with an adult and youth substance‑abusing populations. The successful applicant must be able to work well in a team‑oriented environment and be self‑motivated.

Job Duties
  • Make purchases as necessary to support the program in accordance with the program’s budget and the accounting policies of the Judicial Branch and State of Montana.
  • Pay program invoices, submit reimbursement forms to the Office of Court Administrator, and manage the treatment court checking account. Manage deposits of donations and participant payments and appropriately document all deposits and expenditures.
  • Establish a schedule for the treatment court in coordination with the judge, manage the treatment court calendar, prepare agendas and materials for staffing meetings, secure meeting spaces and times, schedule check‑ins in the judge’s absence, arrange emergency meetings or hearings when necessary, and ensure a record is made of proceedings when required by the judge.
