Location: Colstrip

This position is an on-site position (not eligible for remote work) located in Colstrip, Montana.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for analytical, technical, financial and business process solutions for the Colstrip Power Plant which will directly support management and ownership. Will assist with Owner relations, presentations of relevant budget materials, and plant operations materials. The financial analyst is someone who is naturally curious and focused on continuously improving their technical abilities and understanding of concepts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for running, maintaining and improving financial models and understanding said model’s output to produce high-quality business solutions.
  • Creates comprehensive reports including data analysis and other relevant information to improve business functions and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Prepares solutions to moderately complex stakeholder questions and/or requests on the financial and business aspects of Colstrip Power Plant.
  • Works with internal and external groups to accurately translate business requirements into strategic financial and technical solutions.
  • Build knowledge of the business processes in order to support the development/improvement of ongoing operations.
  • Develops a high-level knowledge of Plant Operations, Maintenance and Systems, with a broad understanding of how the Power Plant operates.
  • Interprets financial, project based, plant process, budget and operational data for discussion with stakeholders to assure the most accurate and efficient financial and business practices are in place.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven financial modeling and data analytics experience.
  • Advanced Excel User.
  • Solves complex problems independently through learning and persistence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels/groups within the organization.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Dual Degree in Business Management/Finance/Accounting.
  • 2+ years of analyst/financial experience.
