Contract Manager Construction

In the context of a confidential large-scale industrial project located in northern France, we are looking for a Contract Manager Construction to assist in the project management on the construction phase.

The project concerns a complex industrial installation, composed of several construction lots, with strong contractual, financial, planning, company interfaces, and risk management challenges.

Missions:

• Ensure the contractual and commercial follow-up of construction contracts on behalf of the project owner.
• Monitor the contractual obligations of the companies involved.
• Analyze requests for amendments, additional work, service orders, and scope changes.
• Evaluate the contractual, financial, and planning impacts of requests from companies.
• Prepare decision dossiers and recommendations for the project owner.
• Participate in commercial negotiations with construction companies.
• Monitor construction situations and payment requests.
• Verify the consistency between physical progress, contractual milestones, and invoicing.
• Update the contractual registers: amendments, claims, notifications, letters, risks, payments.
• Contribute to the analysis of claims and counterclaims.
• Work as an interface with OPC teams, project management, procurement, legal, and project director teams.
• Produce monthly contractual reports: commitments, remaining to commit, risks, cost to completion.

You have confirmed experience in contract management, administration of construction markets, or contractual management on complex industrial projects, infrastructure, or construction.

• Preferred requirements:
• Degree of at least 5 years in construction law, civil engineering, construction economics, procurement, commerce, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in contract management of construction contracts or industrial projects.
• Good understanding of construction markets, amendments, construction situations, claims, and penalties.
• Ability to read and analyze contractual and technical documents.
• Experience in a construction site environment or multi-lot industrial projects.
• Good financial knowledge: monitoring of commitments, remaining to do, cost to completion, commercial risks.
• Professional English at a fluent level.
• Excellent negotiation skills, writing skills, and analytical mind.

Assets:

• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts or international standard contracts.
• Experience on industrial projects exceeding 100 M€.
• Experience in a multicultural environment.
• Experience in the energy, process, chemical, nuclear, infrastructure, or heavy industry sectors.
• Ability to work with project management offices, project management entities, construction companies, and international suppliers.
