Position Overview

Lima School District #12 is seeking a dynamic, student-centered English teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, promote literacy and critical thinking skills, and inspire students through engaging instruction aligned with district and state standards.

Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver high-quality English/Language Arts instruction aligned with state standards

* Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet diverse student needs

* Teach reading, writing, grammar, literature, and communication skills

* Use a variety of instructional strategies and assessment methods to monitor student progress

* Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance

* Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student success

* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

* Participate in professional development and district initiatives

* Collaborate with staff to support student achievement and school improvement goals

Qualifications

* Valid [State] Teaching License with appropriate English/Language Arts endorsement (or ability to obtain)

* Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)

* Strong classroom management and organizational skills

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills

* Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience teaching middle school and/or high school English

* Familiarity with differentiated instruction and MTSS practices

* Experience integrating technology into instruction
