This posting is for a certified teacher with a special education endorsement to work in the special education setting in the Life Skills Learning Center. The current caseload is approximately 11 students with ample paraprofessional support.

This position is for the 2026-27, and is open until filled.
Essential
Job Duties
* Assists in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
* Attends and participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, IEP meetings, and other meetings as required.
* Provides an appropriate educational program for each student.
* Complies with Board policies, rules, regulations, and directives.
* Instructs individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
* Plans curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods.
* Monitors students’ progress in an inclusive learning environment.
* Maintains regular contact with parents of students.
* Evaluates student progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives, and directions.
* Prepares report cards, educational records, IEP forms, classroom observation records, and other forms.
* Consults with other professionals and teaching staff regarding the progress of students and related educational matters.
* Supervises students and classroom aides
Knowledge Skills Abilities
* Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
* Ability to follow oral or written work orders and to coordinate work with the Principal and others.
* Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
* Ability to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups and utilize specific, job-related equipment.
* Ability to problem-solve to analyze issues.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, the public, and staff members.
* Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
* Ability to manage time and responsibilities, adapt to changing work priorities, communicate with diverse groups, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines and schedules.
* Ability to set priorities, work as part of a team, and work with and manage frequent interruptions.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of student matters.
* Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff.
* Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board policies.
* Ability to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events, gather, collate, and/or classify data, and use job-related equipment.
* Skill in adhering to safety practices.
* Skill in preparing and maintaining accurate records and using pertinent software applications (as required).
Required Qualifications
* Valid Montana Teaching Certificate with proper endorsement.
