Position Summary

Lima School District #12 is seeking a qualified and motivated 0.5 FTE History Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in history and related social studies courses. We are looking for an educator who is committed to academic excellence, student growth, and community involvement.

Primary Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver effective instruction in assigned history/social studies courses

* Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards and district curriculum

* Assess and monitor student progress; maintain accurate academic records

* Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs

* Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment

* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

* Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as required

Qualifications

* Valid state teaching license with appropriate endorsement in History or Social Studies (or ability to obtain)

* Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred

* Strong classroom management and instructional skills

* Effective communication and collaboration skills

* Experience in secondary education preferred

Compensation & Benefits

* Salary based on district salary schedule and experience (0.5 FTE prorated)
