Location: Heart Butte

The Industrial Arts Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, hands-on instruction in industrial arts and career and technical education to high school students in grades 9–12. This position emphasizes safety, skill development, problem-solving, and real-world applications while preparing students for careers, postsecondary education, and technical training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver instruction in industrial arts courses such as woodworking, metalworking, construction, drafting, welding, manufacturing, or related technical subjects

* Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards, district curriculum, and Career & Technical Education (CTE) requirements

* Provide hands-on learning experiences that promote technical skills, critical thinking, and workplace readiness

* Teach and enforce proper use of tools, machinery, and equipment, maintaining a safe and organized shop environment

* Instruct students in safety procedures, OSHA-related practices, and equipment operation

* Assess student learning through projects, demonstrations, tests, and performance-based evaluations

* Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, attendance, and safety training

* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners

* Manage classroom and shop behavior to maintain a safe and productive learning environment

* Collaborate with school staff, counselors, and administrators to support student success

* Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress

* Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school activities

* Maintain and inventory tools, equipment, and materials; submit supply and maintenance requests as needed

* Support career readiness initiatives, including job skills, employability skills, and industry awareness
